Asks officers to work shoulder to shoulder with the farmers for the overall development of agriculture sector
Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited different areas of district Pulwama. He interacted with the vegetable growers of Kakpora and other adjacent villages and monitored the paddy transplantation in the district. Director Agriculture met a number of farmers and took on spot feedback regarding the various interventions introduced by the Department and adopted by the farmers of the area.
Speaking on the occasion Director Agriculture assured the farmers that the Department is committed to provide every possible technical guidance to them during various agriculture activities. He asked the farmers to strictly follow the instructions and guidance provided to them by the department (extension workers). He said that the Department is endeavoring to provide with the farmers the latest technological interventions during the cultivation of different agricultural crops so that the good returns could be fetched and socio economic transformation of the farming community of the region could be achieved.
Chowdhary Iqbal directed the concerned officers of the Department to assist and facilitate the farmers for the paddy transplantation, as these days paddy transplantation is being carried out on a large scale across the Kashmir division.
Director Agriculture said the paddy is the major agriculture crop of Kashmir Division and a large number of farm operating families are associated with its cultivation. He asked the officers to work shoulder to shoulder with the farmers and ensure their presence on the farmer’s field on a daily basis till the paddy transplantation activity is completed. He asked the officers to update on a daily basis the status of paddy transplantation to the directorate of agriculture Kashmir.
