DHSK condoles demise of noted Prof. (Dr) Muneer Masoodi

SRINAGAR: Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather today condoled the demise of noted doctor, great teacher and a towering personality Prof. (Dr) Muneer Ahmad Masoodi, who passed away after a brief illness in Srinagar on Thursday.
“I am sad to learn about the demise of Dr Masoodi. May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace and grant him the highest place in Jannah,” he said.
Grieved over the death, the director said it is a great loss to Jammu and Kashmir’s medical fraternity and his death has resulted in a great void in the medical field.
While praying for eternal peace to the departed soul, Dr MA Rather paid rich tributes to the deceased and expressed heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved family.
“He was a passionate professional besides a noted academician and worked hard during his tenure for better patient care services. He always extended a helping hand to the needy and poor. He will surely be remembered by everyone,” the director said.
A medical luminary, Dr Masoodi served as Head of Community Medicine Department GMC Srinagar, Medical Superintendents of Paediatric and Bone and Joint Hospitals of SMHS Hospital Srinagar from time to time.
He also served as Academic Registrar GMC Anantnag and was also heading the department of PSM currently. Later Dr Masoodi’s contribution in the field of medicine and laying of the foundation stone of Medical College Anantnag will be remembered for decades to come.
