SRINAGAR: College of Temperate Sericulture SKUAST-K held demonstration camp at Kulligam, Lolab wherein the main aim was to impart on-spot training about errection of low cost rearing hut where silkworm rearing can be conducted with ease and on scientific lines.
The huts which are ten in number are being erected under externally funded project by NABARD and the project is being implemented in collaboration with Sericulture Development Department J&K .
The function was also attended by Sericulture District Officer, Manzoor Ahmad Sofi, Associate Dean of College Prof. M. F. Baqual along with team of scientists, BDC and Sarpanch of the area and beneficiaries of Sericulture Development Department. Distribution of material required for fabrication of huts was also undertaken during the camp.
Speaking on the function Prof. M. F. Baqual along with other representatives expressed the importance of such huts. He also conveyed his gratitude toVice Chancellor SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai for taking interest in sericulture expansion.
Gratitude was also expressed to NABARD for having funded the project.
