Rs 8600 fine realized during market checking in Kakapora

PAMPORE: In view of Eid-ul-Fitr, Tehsildar Kakapora Ashiq Hussain along with FCS&CA department led by Tehsil Supplier Officer Ayash Farooq and Police conducted market checking at Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary , a joint team of Revenue department led by Tehsildar Kakapora Ashiq Hussain and Tehsil Supplier Officer Kakapora Ayash Farooq conducted a market checking in Kakapora market to check the price line of essential commodities and adherence of food safety standards by shopkeepers.
The inspection team checked the quality, hygienic condition, expiry and rate lists of Food items and other essential commodities, officials told Kashmir Reader.
During the drive dozens shopkeepers including mutton shops, poultry shops, bakery shops checked, a fine of Rs 8600 was imposed on dozens erring shopkeepers. They also destroyed contaminated vegetables and spices.
The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders.
The inspection team urged traders not to violate the rules and directed them for displaying the rate lists at their respective trade centres, TSO Ayash Farooq told Kashmir Reader.
They also warned the vendors not to encroach the footpaths failing which shall render action against the violators.
