Bakery shops in Pampore asked for maintaining hygiene, many shopkeepers fined

PAMPORE: Authorities carried out a market checking cum anti encroachment drive in Pampore town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
During the drive many bakery shops were raided by a team led by Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din and Tehsil Supplier Officer Pampore Ayash Farooq to check their hygiene.
The Tehsildar Pampore warned some of the bakery shops with strict action after they were found lacking in hygienic conditions.
The drive was carried out by a team of revenue department, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CA) department, and Municipal Committee Pampore under the supervision of Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din along with Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Ayash Farooq to check rates of commodities and encroachment of roads and footpaths.
During the drive the inspection team checked the various business units including, bakery shops, bakery units, mutton shops, chicken, fish sellers, vegetable vendors and others were checked during inspection.
The inspection team also checked the quality, hygienic condition, expiry and rate lists of food items and other essential commodities in the Saffron Town.
During the inspection, the checking team realised a good fine from various Bakery shops, and other shopkeepers, Tehsil Supply Officer Ayash Farooq told Kashmir Reader.
This was third drive carried out by Pampore administration in this holy month.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader that the drive was carried out in view of coming festival of Eid ul Fitar.
” After holly month of Ramadan, auspicious occasion of Eid will be observed, unfortunately, it has been noticed that shopkeepers resort to undue profiteering by hiking prices on their own and they also encroach roads, lanes and footpaths during the days ahead of Eid,” Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, adding that they find a number of shopkeepers and evicted encroachments at different places in the town.
He appealed to people to inform administration if they find any shopkeeper in undue profiteering, black marketing so that strict action is taken against them.
He appealed to shopkeepers of the town to follow proper ethics and avoid hiking prices on their own.
He also appealed shopkeepers and Hawkers not to encroach on roads because that causes trouble for smooth movement of transport and pedestrians.
He asked vehicle owners for avoiding wrong parking, particularly along Sub district hospital Pampore road.
He also said that they raided bakery shops in the town and some bakery shops were served strict warnings for not Maintaining proper hygiene.
The Tehsildar Pampore also urged shopkeepers in the Saffron Town not to violate the rules besides displaying the rate lists at their respective shops.
He also requested the general public to contact the department in case of rate violation in the the Saffron Town.
