Stone crusher sealed after labourer dies accidentally at Khrew

PAMPORE: Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din sealed a stone crusher at Khrew area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after a labourer died there in a mishap on Saturday.
The officials told Kashmir Reader that on directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary, Tehsildar Pampore Mohi-ud-Din raided M/S Bhat Stone Crusher Khrew and sealed it on the spot.
The plant was sealed in presence of SHO Khrew Manzoor Ahmad and a team of revenue department, officials said on Sunday.
A 27 year old man working as an Operator fell in the Screen Shaft of a crusher while working and died on spot.
The deceased was identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Drabu son of Mohammad Shafi, resident of Chak Narwah Banihal.
‘The Crusher Unit was defunct for six years after an accident had forced the owners to close it down.
The plant was recently purchased by another person who was about to operationalize it.’
The Khrew Police has registered a case under Section 174 of RPC and the body after post mortem at SDH Pampore was handed over to the other labourers for last rites, police said.
