Islamia College organises interaction with TEDX NIT Srinagar, J&K

SRINAGAR: Day long interaction was organized in the Islamia College Campus with TEDX NIT Srinagar. The main objective of such event was to share the experiences by the students. Professor Nofiya, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications of the College had forwarded the Idea of Technology, Entertainment & Design interaction on the subject with the prospective students. Professor Nofiya, moderated the whole event wherein she explained about TEDX that bring together to share a TEDx like experience.
At TEDX events, eminent and accomplished personalities having expertise in their domains, deliver talks on topics that matter and spark deep discussions and connections. With the belief in the power to change lives and attitudes, TED talks work to enlighten and enrich people’s lives to give them a better understanding of the world around in true consciousness by sharing the knowledge and wisdom of the speakers. The event was attended by the students and faculty from the College. The event was inaugurated by the Principal of the host College, Professor Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, who also welcomed the guest speakers and highlighted the significance of such program in the present scenario. He emphasized the need of such interactions and appreciated the students for working hard to prepare for elocution competition. Professor Nayer Rizawan, Convenor, Debates & Seminars made a strong case for such interactions and thanked organizers of TEDX NIT Srinagar for conducting Phase-I elocution competition at Islamia College. The students also highlighted the importance of such programs in the contemporary world. In Phase 1 which comprises intra-institute elocution competitions to provide a mini-TED talk like experience. The students who presented their presentations were from the B.Sc./BBA/BCA/B.Com/IPG and integrated courses. The function concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Professor Nofiya.
