Ex-State prez JKTF retires from services

PAMPORE: A grand farewell party was organised by teacher’s forum Jammu and Kashmir to bid adieu to renowned teacher and former state president of the teacher’s forum, Mohammed Afzal Bhat, who superannuated from services on 31 March.
The function was held at Townhall Pampore.
Various officers, officials and prominent leaders of employees’ union participated in the function including District president JKTF Pulwama Abdul Hamid Trumboo, Abdul Quyoom Wani Chairman Civil Society Forum, Chairman JKTF and President J&K Employees Joint Action Committee Rafiq Ahmad Rather, Farooq Ahmad Trali retired ex trade union leader of JK Agriculture union, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The speakers also highlighted contributions of Mohammad Afzal Bhat who as per them did a great service as a teacher and as state president of teacher’s forum.
District president JKTF Pulwama Abdul Hamid Trumboo presented the inaugural welcome address. He also spoke about contribution of Mohammad Afzal Bhat as a teacher, mentor, guide and as a stalwart trade union leader.
Abdul Qayoom Wani Chairman Civil Society Forum in his speech stressed upon the teachers community to play their role in curbing the social evils especially affecting the future of our younger generation. “It is a teacher who can transform a society by moulding the instincts of youth in the right direction”.
The Chairman JKTF & President J&K Employees Joint Action Committee Rafiq Ahmad Rather in his speech stressed on the unity of employees for creating a stress free and conducive atmosphere for employees to work with zeal and zeast.
Mohammed Rafiq, Chairperson JK teacher’s forum said that the conference was organised in honour of Mohammad Afzal Bhat who is retiring today.
He added that teachers have a responsibility to make children able to compete at a global level.
Mohammed Afzal Bhat told Kashmir Reader that the theme of the conference is sharing of knowledge and wisdom as well as to honour his contributions.Mohammed Afzal Bhat started his teaching career in 1988 as a private teacher in MEI Pampore, in 1995 he joined middle school Barsoo as teacher, and then Girls Higher Secondary School Rajbagh as master.
He also served at a school in Athwajan and DIET, Srinagar before retiring as head teacher from GMS Kothibagh.
He has also been state President of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum and spokesperson of EJAC.
During his tenure the teacher’s forum rendered valuable services to community including donation of 633 pints of blood, providing relief to flood victims and providing
notebooks to orphans in Pampore.
Other prominent personalities present in the conference were Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din Provencial President JKTF Showkat Ali Beigh, Mir Wasim Farooq conservator Forest department, Hussain Zaffar Journalist Shahrbeen, Tasaduq Ahmad senior legal Advisor, Ajaz Ahmad President Bar Association Pampore, Nusrat Beigh President clerical union. Zonal Education Officer Awantipora Azad Hussain Lone, ZEO Kakapora, Ex Chief Education Officer Pulwama Farooq Ahmad Dar, Ex Principal HSS Ladhoo G A Dar , Provencial executive members of JKTF, District executive Members of JKTF, Zonal Presidents of JKTF Pamppore, Kakapora, Awantipore, Tral, Pulwama, Lurgam , Shadimarg along with their zonal executive members and other social workers.
