Gujjar Bakerwal general secretary calls on Div Com Jammu, raises several issues

PAMPORE: A delegation led by Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference general secretary Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal met Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer and handed over him a memorandum at his office Jammu on Tuesday.
The delegation members brought many issues facing Gujjar and Bakerwal community into his notice.
The gujjar and Barkerwal general secretary Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal told Kashmir Reader that a memorandum was given to Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer in which they demanded effective implementation of the forest rights act, banning of issuing fake ST/SC certificates to non deserving persons. He said that they also pleaded through the memorandum to Divisional Commissioner Jammu for rehabilitating of nomadic Gujjar and Barkerwal families. He added that people from the community suffered a lot while moving their cattle from Jammu to Kashmir division.
“The cattle herders have to move from one office to another and remain in long ques for hours to seek permission from moving their cattle. We requested for easing this movement”, Gujjar and Bakerwal general secretary Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen Poswal told Kashmir Reader.
He added that the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer gave a patient hearing to their issues and assured them that they will be solved.
