Furniture unit gutted in Pampore

PAMPORE: Property worth lakhs were reduced to ashes after a furniture factory was gutted in a massive fire incident that broke out on late Tuesday evening at Letterabal area of Saffron Town Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The cause of fire due to electric short circuit.A police officials told Kashmir Reader that upper story of furniture were gutted in a major blaze that broke out in the Letterabal area of the Saffron Town.
After getting information, a team from Pampore police station led by SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad along with SHO Adil Ashraf immediately rushed to the spot and informed the Department of Fire and Emergency Service Station Pampore.
Fire fighters along with tenders rushed to the spot and started the operation to douse the fire with the help of police personnels and controlled it from spreading to the adjoining houses, police officials told Kashmir Reader.
The furniture shop was owned by Gulam Geelani Dar son of Ali Mohammad, resident of Zinpora area of Pampore.
He said that no casualty or injury has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could be ascertained after investigation completes.
However, Pampore Police has taken the cognizance and started investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
The incident occurred around 10.30 P.m. Fire fighters personnel from the Fire Station Pampore and police Pampore rushed to the spot and doused the flames, Owner of the unit told Kashmir Reader, he said that property worth several lakhs reduced to ashes after fire engulfed his furniture unit.He urged district administration for compensation
