Administration continues with anti-encroachment drive in Pampore

Commercial complex coming up without permission demolished

PAMPORE: The Tehsil administration on Monday carried out an eviction drive at Tanchibagh in Saffron Town Pampore town area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
The drive was carried out under supervision of Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din who was assisted by SHO Pampore Adil Ashraf, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore, Mohammad Iqbal, Tehsil Official Mir Murwat Hussian and other revenue and Municipal Committee employees.
During the drive two kanal Kahcharia land was evicted worth rupees crore.
The land will be utilised for construction of a slaughterhouse.
“A joint drive was carried out by revenue department, Police and Municipal committee Pampore for eviction of Kahcharia land which was encroached by some farmers by way of plantation of trees,” Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, adding that the farmers were served notices for cutting the trees.
” The farmers didn’t pay any heed to notices already issued to them with the result a joint drive was carried out today for cutting the trees,” he said.
He added that the evicted land will be utilised for construction of a slaughtering house.
The Tehsildar Pampore warned the farmers not to encroach on government land which warrants strict action as per law.
Pertinently, the government has approved several developmental projects for the Saffron Town Pampore recently, including Slaughter house,” he said.
In another drive a commercial complex consisting of six rooms at Tanchibagh area of Saffron Town Pampore was demolished by authorities of Municipal Committee Pampore.
The structure was built without permission from the Municipal Committee.
The drive was carried out under supervision of Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore, Mohammed Iqbal.
“The applicant had applied for a residential house and even for that all formalities were not completed, in the meantime he had raised the structure,” Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore Mohammad Iqbal told Kashmir Reader, adding that people apply for permission to build houses and simultaneously start constructed their house without getting NOC.
