SRINAGAR: KVK Pulwama on Monday conducted a valedictory function of seven days skill training programme for rural youth titled “Button Mushroom Cultivation”.
As many as 28 rural Youth attended the training programme sponsored by SAMETI (DoE) SKUAST-K and MANAGE Hyderabad from 08-14 March, 2022 at KVK Pulwama, SKUAST-K. During the period trainees underwent both theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations on the different aspects of mushroom production. They also had an exposure visit to the mushroom research centre SKUAST-K, Shalimar as well as visited the mushroom unit of entrepreneur at Kakapora Pulwama.
The valedictory function was attended by chief guest Worthy director extension Prof. Dil Mohd Makhdoomi, deputy director training (DOE) Dr. Farah Naaz, Assistant professor, Dr. Khurshid. Professor & Head KVK Pulwama Dr. Musarat Shafi at the outset welcomed the participants. Worthy director extension during his speech emphasized on commercial cultivation of mushroom production and elobrated its importance at global level. Further he emphasized formation of FPOs. There shall be a targeted goal to put all our efforts together in giving agriculture a new dimension so that farmers concerned shall hail high yields and profits.
He said presently available technology provides us opportunities to expand our experiences side by side with available latest resources. He reiterated that SKUAST will be always at the forefront when the interests of farmers are there. He appreciated KVK Pulwama for successfully completing the training program, such initiatives will prove pivotal push in the overall new agriculture scenario and progressive farming. Dr. Farah Naaz in her address informed the participants about the various training on different agricultural enterprises. Training coordinator Dr. Z.A. Badri briefed about the training programme.
Worthy director Extension also visited different demonstration units of the Kendra and gave valuable suggestions.
