Plantation drive concludes at Government College of Physical Education Gadoora, Gbl

GANDERBAL: A two days mega plantation drive concluded today at Government College of Physical Education Gadoora in collaboration with Sindh Forest Department, 24 Rastriya Rifles Ganderbal and NSS Unit-I and II of the College.
During the drive held on 11th and 12th of March, more than 300 saplings were planted by the students of B. P. Ed/M. P. Ed and all the staff members of the college also participated in the said drive.
Dr. Hartej Singh, Principal GCOPE on the occasion enlightened the participants about the purpose of plantation adding that
The drive is being carried out to save the environment.
Other faculty members emphasized the importance of plantation in and around the college campus and said that this ingenuity shall go a long way in inculcating responsiveness among the students about environment conservation. These plants are an investment for the future generations that shall offer natural shade in open spaces and provide cleaner air to breathe by increasing green cover, they added.
The tree plantation drive was steered with an objective to control global warming, make environment pollution free and repast awareness on the reputation of keeping a clean environment in the college campus.
Before the culmination of the 02-day plantation event, the students along with the teachers took an oath to look after planted saplings, plant more and more trees and encourage others to do the same.
