FOB spreads awareness camp at Marheen, Kathua

Srinagar: As a part of ongoing Nationwide campaign on ‘AzadiKaAmritMahotsav’, ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, Drug Abuse, Covid Appropriate Behaviour, Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojna (Ayushmaan Bharat)Fit India etc. a two -day long awareness campaign started today at GHSS, Marheen, block Marheen of district Kathua. It was organized by Field Outreach Bureau, Kathua under the aegis of Regional Outreach Bureau, Jammu, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India. On the first day a drawing/painting competition on AKAM, EBSB, CAB, PMJAY and Drug Abuse and Quiz contest on Discover India was held at GHSS Marheen under the chairmanship of Sh.Amardas, I/c Principal,GHSS Marheen in the presence of staff of the school and officials of Regional Outreach Bureau. In which nine teams from GHSS & GGHS Marheen participated.
The aim of organizing various activities for two days which include painting competition, seminar, Quiz, Cultural programmes etc. on said themes is to involve common masses in the celebrations of Azadi the AmritMahotsav which marks 75 years of India’s Independence, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, which celebrates unity in diversity, achieving the targets of Vaccinations and also involve them in spreading awareness to the grass root level regarding getting vaccinated and observing Covid Appropriate Behavior and living a healthy life by avoiding Drug Abuse and following healthy habits.
K.C Angurana, Vice Principal, GHSS Marheen addressed the students and highlighted the importance of Self-discipline, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat etc.
Speaking on this Occasion Vijay Mattoo I/C Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Kathua gave a brief introduction of the working and organization of the department and also highlighted the importance of cleanliness &Covid Appropriate Behaviour for healthy living. He urged people that getting vaccinated will not only save their own live but also ensure the safety of others because ‘Nobody is safe unless everybody is safe.’He urged the eligible citizens to come forward for getting vaccinated through COWIN app. He further informed about 104 the helpline number for Covid-19 vaccination. He added that people who are disabled or sick and cannot reach vaccination centers are visited by health workers at their dwellings for vaccination through helpline number 104.
About 40 students from GHSS & GGHS Marheen participated in the drawing competition in which Kamna Devi (12th) of GHSS Marheen, stood first, Kareena Devi (10th) of GGHS Marheen stood second, and Lakshmi Gupta (12th) of GHSS Marheen bagged third prize. Diksha Devi (8th) of GGHS & Mansi Badgal (12th) of GHSS Marheen were awarded consolation prizes. Anandita (3rd) & Shine (UKG) also participated in drawing competition. In Quiz Team comprising of Manisha (12th) and Kiran Kohli (12th) from GHSS Marheen stood first, team of Nancy Shrma (12th) GHSS & Samiksh Sharma (9th) GGHS Marheen bagged second position while as teams comprising of Vishal Singh (11th) & Manish (11th) & Team Himanshu Devi (11th) and Neha Chib scored third position collectivelly. FOB, Kathua organized the activities with the coordination of School Management, Education Department and coordination of District Administration Kathua.
