Engineer turns entrepreneur in Pampore launches Kathi Junction outlet

PAMPORE: A Civil Engineer from Namblabal in Saffron town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district became an entrepreneur by venturing into fast food business.
Umar Manzoor, resident of Namblabal who has B-Tech in civil engineering started outlet of Kathi Junction restaurant at Namblabal Pampore `
“I graduated in 2015 and since then I saw one advertisement for Junior Engineer posts and in private sector you are subjected to exploitation,” he told Kashmir Reader, adding that he left his private job to start a fast food unit in Namblabal area with his cousin, Saqib Ahmad.
He said that at the beginning he is able to provide employment to four other youth and in the coming days three more will be hired.
The Kathi Junction outlet was inaugurated by SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad, he told Kashmir Reader
This is the first type of food brand outlet Kathi Junction in Saffron Town.
Kathi Junction serves the best Fast food like Kathi Rolls, Kababs, Shawarma Biryani and much more.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, SHO, Mohammad Younis Khan, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore, Mohammad Iqbal, Bar Association members, Education department officials and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
A number of people from different walks of life thronged for the opening ceremony of the outlet.
SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad congratulated him for opening this business unit.
” My advice to youth is that they should engage themselves in productive things and that will save them from negative forces,” he said.
Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din said that he is happy to see Kathi Junction opening a new branch in Namblabal.
” For the past three years business was down due to COVID and under these circumstances opening a new business unit is a good thing,” he said, adding that the unit is giving employment to seven other people.
