Srinagar: District Football Associations (DFA)Anantnag, Budgam win their matches in the first Phase of ongoing Annual Football Championship 2021-22 played at Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar on Monday.
The first match was played between DFA Anantnag and DFA Ganderbal. Both teams played quality football and the full time ended in a goalless draw. The winner was decided by enforcing tiebreaker rule in which DFA Anantnag defeated DFA Ganderbal by 4-1 goals
In the second match DFA Srinagar and DFA Budgam locked horns with each other. In the beginning DFA Srinagar dominated for some time and scored a beautiful goal through Ayyan. DFA Budgam consolidated their position and took advantage of a counter attack and equalized the score through Mohamad Yaseen.
Both the teams struggled hard to take the lead but couldn’t find the net till the final whistle was blown. The tiebreaker rule was enforced to decide the winner in which DFA Budgam kept their nerve and defeated DFA Srinagar by 4-2 goals.
DFA Anantnag & DFA Budgam are the other two teams who have qualified for the final Phase.
The tournament is organized by JKFA in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
