Srinagar: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Muslims of the subcontinent as well as the entire Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the Me’raj-un-Nabi – the revolutionary and great miracle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a statement, the Anjuman said that according to the tradition of the centuries-old Mirwaizeen-e-Kashmir, the special ceremony of the Shabe-e-Me’raj used to be held at the historic Aali Masjid, Eidgah Srinagar which was attended by a large number of people. However, like the past two years, this year too, it could not be possible due to the continued detention of Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq since 5 August 2019. This is sad and unfortunate in every way and a matter of concern for the people of Kashmir.
The Anjuman, on behalf of the organisation and its incarcerated Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has sincerely and heartily congratulated the Muslim World in general and the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir in particular on the occasion of Me’raj-un-Nabi (SAW), saying that 1444 years ago, the Prophet (SAW) travelled from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa and then from there to Maqam Qaab o Qawseen and Laamakaan. In Islamic terminology, it is known as Israa and Me’raj.
The great practical event of the Me’raj of the Prophet (SAW) and the unparalleled miracle is in fact a revolution of human thought and consciousness, the Anjuman said.
The Anjuman said that this event instigated the element of the quest for knowledge and research in the world which gave the mankind courage to reach the stars, moon and outer space. For the thinking minds and alert brains there are so many messages hidden in this event, it said.
The Me’raj is a practical miracle of the Prophet of Mercy (SAW), which will be celebrated as a memorial till the Day of Resurrection, and new areas of thought and vision will continue to emerge from it, the Anjuman said.
