300 m of sunk road in Ramban to see speedy restoration: Officials

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam, along with DDC Councillor, Shamim Akter, today visited sinking portion of Kanga- Gandhri road at which has been damaged due to recent incessant Rain fall.
Executive Engineer, PWD, Vinod Gupta, Engineers, SHO Dharmkund, Firdous Ahmad and other officers were also present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner has deputed Tehsildar Ramban as Nodal Officer for overseeing restoration work in a time bound manner to connect Gandhari block with district headquarter through road link.
The DC directed the Executive Engineer PWD to start restoration work of a 300 meter sinking road stretch which was affected during recent heavy rainfall.
The DC also directed the Divisional Forest Officer, Batote to remove all trees uprooted due to sinking of road.
The Executive Engineer JPDCL apprised the DC that the power supply has been restored in majority of areas in Gandhari block and restoration work will be started immediately after clearance of debris and fallen trees.
The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti department was directed to start restoration work on damaged water supply schemes.
After discussing the prevailing situation with the DDC Councilor, Gandhari, the DC assured her that the District Administration is monitoring the restoration operations and essential supply position besides making a provision for essential supplies through transhipment.
