Continuing extension education on marketing linkages held at SKUAST

SRINAGAR: As Continuing Extension Education programmes Directorate of Extension organized a training programme on “Strengthening Agriculture Extension through Market Linkages“in which all officers of university Heads of the Divisions, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras along with their scientists and a few progressive farmers participated.
Padma Shri Prof (Dr) M L Madan formerly Vice-Chancellor Veterinary University Mathura and Punjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth Akola was guest speaker. Who advised the participants to pursue determinations, have stand and judgment which would enable us to face odds.
He narrated the series of events and steps to accomplish mission impossible. Commenting about his Padma Shri award he said it is the recognition of science and efforts of his colleagues, only my name is inserted he said. He shared many experiences of his student life in Kashmir which gave him confidence and courage. Prof. Nazir a Ganie, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, praised the benign guidance as his student and advised the audience that glorified thinking is must to prove conviction and every failure is a new step to new success and learn from toughness and discipline. Inspirational speech of Prof Madan is the honour of the SKUAST-K to host he said. He applauded the services Dr. Madan has given to the Nation.
Earlier Prof Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi Director Extension narrated the autobiography and resume of Prof. Madan which gave a nostalgic touch to audiences. He welcomed the audiences which included five past Vice-Chancellor viz Prof. Tej Pratap Vice-Chancellor Panthnagar University Prof M P Singh SKAUST-Jammu, Prof RML Pathak ADJ (ICAR) Prof A.C. Varshney Ex-Vice Chancellor Mathura university and Prof R. Sharma Director IVRI. Due to heavy snowfall many scientists joined the programme on-line. Latter in the function, Vice-Chancellor and Director Extension felicitated Dr. Madan with a shawl and citation. All theguests applauded the role of SKUAST-K in organizing such brainstorming sessions and demand driven training programmes.
