Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal have seized illicit timber at Hayanpalpora Kangan area of Ganderbal.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling at Hayanpalpora Kangan, a police party of PS Kangan under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri-JKPS raided the particular spot and seized illicit timber from one person identified as Abdul Karim Kumar son of Gh Mohd Kumar resident of Hayanpalpora Kangan. However, the accused person involved in the commission of crime managed to escape from spot and efforts are on to effect his arrest.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 21/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation set into motion. Moreover, efforts are on to nab the persons involved in the commission of crime.
The drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold. Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
