SRINAGAR: The Authorities at Govt. Medical College and Associate Hospital (GMC&AH) Baramulla have refuted the reports in various sections of media regarding non-availability of Wheelchairs and Stretchers for patients, there.
As per an official statement issued here, it has been made clear that the matter has been thoroughly investigated by the hospital administration on 13th February, 2022 and the news reports are found to be baseless.
It was informed that an already sufficient number of Wheelchairs and Stretchers are at service of the patients and are being augmented as per the need for use by patients/attendants.
Further the statement reads that it has been observed that patients/attendants take the wheelchair and stretchers and after usage abandon them at inaccessible areas and thus making the concerned unable to locate the wheelchairs and stretchers.
The Hospital administration has also informed that it is working on the matter and soon a place will be designated as Wheelchair and Stretchers Bay and adequate number of security personnel/ helpers will be posted at the Wheel Chair/Stretcher Bay who will be instrumental in judicial usage of the Wheel Chairs/Stretchers besides helping the people in need of the Wheel Chairs and Stretchers.
