Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have solved a theft case by arresting 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime, besides recovering the stolen mobile phones from his possession.
Police Post Delina received a written complaint from Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie son of Sonaullah Ganaie resident of Sahipora Langate stating therein that while travelling from Sopore to Baramulla in a mini bus he lost his mobile phone. Further he added that a person was sitting next to him in the vehicle and got-off from the bus at Delina market, the co-passengers told him that he is a renowned thief, perhaps has stolen his mobile phone.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Baramulla and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, a special investigation police team headed by SHO PS Baramulla assisted by IC PP Delina under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla was constituted. After strenuous efforts, the special team raided several suspected locations & one person was arrested identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Lone @ Barmuda son of Fayaz Ahmad Lone resident of Delina Ghat. On his disclosure involvement of another partner namely Tahir Ahmad Dar son of Farooq Ahmad Dar resident of Delina Ghat surfaced.
On their disclosure, nine stolen mobile phones were recovered from them. They also confessed their involvement in different mobile theft incidents which took place within Town Baramulla and Sopore.
Further investigation into the case is going on and more arrests and recoveries are also expected.
Community members have applauded the efforts made by the Police in solving the case. Our consistent action against the anti-social elements shall re-assure community members that Police has resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
