Drive for registration of farmers under PMKMY begins in Pampore

PAMPORE: Agriculture department zone Pampore started door to door registration under PM Kisan Mandhan Yojana (PMKMY) Scheme at Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The team of Agriculture department block Pampore on distributed many application forms for PMKMY Scheme at Patalbagh and other areas Pampore.
A number of farmers were registered under the scheme.
Farmers from 18 to 40 years of age are eligible for the scheme.
The registered farmers will get a monthly pension of rupees 3000 per month after the age of 60.
This scheme was recently launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
The main aim for this scheme to help the marginal and poor farmer of the country, officials told Kashmir Reader.
” PMKMY is a pension scheme from government of India, Today we are doing door to door registration and more than 150 registrations here in Patalbagah village and 450 in Zone Pampore,”Shaikh Shariyar Agriculture Extension Officer Pampore, told Kashmir Reader, adding that this scheme is open for farmers from age 18 to 40.
He said that the farmers have to deposit a monthly installment and after 60 they will get a pension of rupees three thousand per month.
He told Kashmir Reader that government also deposits an equal amount till maturation at rupees 48,000.
He said that they were helped by Irshad Ahmad Dar, a progressive young former and member of Kisan Advisory Board in the registration process.
” I am thankful to officials of agriculture department for launching PMKMY scheme,” Irshad told Kashmir Reader, adding that the scheme is meant for farmers who can get benefited from the scheme during the old age days.
He said that in old age days farmers can use the pension for meeting their daily requirements.
He said that they are very excited about the scheme and in coming days all the farmers of Patalbagh village will get themselves registered for the scheme.
