Police arrests drug peddler in Awantipora, contraband recovered

Srinagar: Police have arrested one drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers from Police Post Reshipora apprehended one person at Railway Crossing Dogipora when he was moving in suspicious condition. During checking, officers were able to recover 1.1Kgs of grinded Cannabis concealed in a polythene bag from his possession. He has been identified as Mohd Marbool Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Liddermud. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 10/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and persons found involved in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
