Traders, Transporters protest to press for permission to cabs in City

SRINAGAR: All Traders Transporters Joint Coordination Committee (ATTJJC) Kashmir on Thursday held a massive demonstration here in Srinagar demanding allow the cab services towards Batamaloo and other city parts of Srinagar.
The protesting trades from the Batamaloo area assembled here in at Old Bus Stand Batamaloo chanting slogans “We want Justice,” and ” Allow the Sumo and Tavera service to entry the Batamaloo,”
The protesting traders said that after the Sumo traffic movement was stopped their business has been affected as most of the people from other districts do not prefer to buy products from us.
President of the All Traders transporters Joint Coordination Committee (ATTJJC),Peerzeda Imtiyaz Hussain said that after the Batamaloo bus stand have been shifted to the Parimpora in the year 2017 by the government their business have been worst hit in Batamaloo and it’s surroundings areas.
” The Batamaloo bus stand has been shifted to the Parimpora with this aim, the government is going to construct a Mini secretariat in the Batamaloo bus stand. But no mini secretariat has been constructed in that place,as the whole area is desolate now” He said.
Hussain said that the Batamaloo bus stand has its own history which was providing bus as well as sumo services to all the districts of the Kashmir valley. The trade was also providing a source of employment to the local people as well as other people who were working in the shops in the batamaloo market.
“After the shifting of the bus stand to the Parimpora area, this source of employment has decreased and traders have been worst affected in the area and its surroundings,” he said.
” From last one month now the traffic police department is not allowing the Sumo and Travera services to be allowed towards the Batamaloo, due to which our business has got further hit and sales have declined in the markets,” he added.
He further said that we are demanding the district administration Srinagar and traffic police department city Srinagar city to allow the sumo cabs to enter the city. So, our business activity will remain balanced in the city.
protesting traders have also requested the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and SSP Traffic police department Srinagar city to look into matter and allow cab services to enter towards Srinagar city.
