DDC Chairman Anantnag begins two day tour of Pahalgam

ANANTNAG: The District Development Council Chairman Anantnag, MY Gorsi began his two day tour of Pahalgam today.
As part of the block diwas program, the DDC Chairman held a public darbar at Amad Wagad and Ayush Center Batkoot.
Giving a patient hearing to the various demands raised by members of civil society regarding power supply, water supply and implementation of development projects, Gorsi said that the demands will be forwarded to concerned departments for timely redressal.
He said the outreach program of the government is aimed at providing doorstep services to the people and bringing accountability and transparency into the implementation of various schemes.
The Chairman said that with the advent of three tier panchayati raj system, participative democracy has become a reality and people are the primary shapers of developmental plans. He said that various works are being executed on ground and people should participate in the developmental process through various available mechanisms like social audit, local labour participation, etc.
Gorsi inspected works at Kashangam, Batkoot, Ganeshpora, Grenwon and Ainoo being implemented by RDD including protection walls, culverts, irrigation channels etc. He stressed on quality workmanship.
The Chairman directed front line functionaries of various line departments to be punctual and give due hearing to public grievances.
He was accompanied by ACP Anantnag, BDO Pahalgam and other district officials.
The DDC is expected to inspect other works being undertaken in Pahalgam sub division under District CAPEX, B2V3, 14th FCA and MGNREGA on the second day.
