Online refresher course for college, university teachers begins at KU

Srinagar: A two-week refresher course in human rights started at the University of Kashmir.
The online course has been organised for university and college teachers, from within and outside J&K, by the varsity’s UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC).
Vice-Chancellor Madhusudan Law University Odhisa, who was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session, spoke about the relevance of such refresher courses.
He said teachers should remain updated about curriculum development as well as new pedagogical tools and skills so that they remain relevant within and beyond their classrooms.
Head and Dean, School of Law, Prof Beauty Banday was a guest of honour who discussed various contours of the theme. She said the University’s HRDC is doing a commendable job by holding refresher and orientation courses on regular basis to keep teachers updated with the latest information and knowledge about various areas of study and research.
Director HRDC Prof Mushtaq Darzi welcomed the guests and participants. He reiterated that HRDC is committed to perform its role in a professional manner and have teachers from colleges and universities interact with best experts from within and outside the country.
He said the University authorities are providing their full support to the programmes organised by the HRDC.
Course Coordinator Dr Showkat Ahamd Bhat, Senior Assistant Professor, School of Law, gave an overview of the course while Dr Sumeer Gul, Coordinator HRDC, conducted the session and also delivered a vote of thanks.
