IGNOU, Regional center Srinagar fulfills the mandate of University to democratise higher education: Dr Meena, Regional Director IGNOU

SRINAGAR: IGNOU, Regional Centre Srinagar has organized promotional-cum-interactional programme at Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar to extend the benefit of higher education to the masses of Srinagar city district area through prospective learners support centre of IGNOU. Dr. Meena quotes as: “Education cuts the barriers, obstacles, hindrances of human society to empower the human society to be civilised and cultured”.
The programme was organised by Principal Prof. (Dr) Manzoor Ahmad Lone of Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar for the purpose of having the establishment of a learner support centre at his host institution. Regional Director, Dr. Kamlesh Meena delivered a lecture about the role of IGNOU being played in Kashmir valley is commendable which caters almost 50000 learners in a year for different cycling of admission offered by IGNOU particularly masters degree programme. In the event Prof. (Dr) Manzoor Ahmad Lone Principal of the college appreciated the overall role of IGNOU Regional Director for the betterment of student support services and expansion of his efforts to deliver the right duties, responsibilities with full honesty, dedication and sincerity. Prof (Dr) Manzoor Ahmad expressed gratitude and confidence over the role of Dr. Kamlesh Meena after assuming the charge of Regional Director RC Srinagar. Prof (Dr) Manzoor Ahmad Lone warmly welcomed Dr. Kamlesh Meena Regional Director Srinagar in a conference room which was gathered with all faculty members of college, proposed coordinator Prof. Mohd Yaqoob Baba and a number students were present on the occasion. Prof. Manzoor Ahmad lone thanked Regional Director Regional centre Srinagar Dr. Kamlesh Meena taking such initiatives to extend the benefit of higher education through this prestigious national university with international jurisdiction i.e., IGNOU.
In the event Dr. Kamlesh Meena assured the principal of the host institution that all support and cooperation will be provided to the proposed coordinator for the smooth functioning of the proposed learner support centre which will be notified by IGNOU, Headquarter on the recommendation of Regional Centre Srinagar. Regional Director, Kamlesh Meena expressed the confidence that this proposed LSC would cater the aspirations of higher education seekers especially oppressed, depressed, deprived, marginalised and economically backward class societies and will shape their dreams for availing higher education and to empower them. During the address of gathering Dr. Meena Said IGNOU has important role in Kashmir valley and we are committed to fulfil the mandate of University to reach the unreached segments of the society and enlightening them with the blessings of knowledge, skill development, academic excellencies, professional enhancement, vocational skills and entrepreneurship. After visiting the proposed LSC at Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar our two staff members Mr. Ishtiyaq Nazir Malik & Mr. Furhan Ahmad Chachoo completed all the required formalities for establishment of the proposed LSC. The preparation of proposed LSC file has been prepared in short span of time by these dedicated employee of RC Srinagar with the consultation of proposed coordinator under the supervision of College Principal and direction of Regional Director Srinagar
IGNOU is a NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY established by an Act of Parliament in 1985 (Act No. 50 of 1985). The Degrees/ Diplomas/ Certificates issued by IGNOU are recognized by all the member institutions of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and are at par with the corresponding Degrees/ Diplomas/ Certificates issued by all Indian Universities/ Deemed Universities/ Institutions etc.
