Anti-drug abuse contest organised at Pampore

PAMPORE: Anti drug abuse programme organised at Khrew area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
The Anti drug abuse contest was organised by Tehsil office Pampore in Collaboration with Social Welfare department Pulwama at Townhall Khrew on the theme “Drugs are a Death Trap”.
The programme was chaired by Tehsildar Pampore, Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din (KAS) and District Social Welfare Officer Pulwama Mukhtar Ahmad Dar (KAS), officials told Kashmir Reader.
The officers also gave speeches about ill effects of drugs and how society and parents can help administration in controlling the menace.
They urged youth to engage in constructive and positive activities and stay away from bad company and from drug addiction. A number of people from all across district Pulwama delivered their performances related to the theme, which included skits, rap songs, poems, ladi shah.
Naib Tehsildar Khrew Bashir Ahmad, Revenue officials, Education department officials, Municipal Committee Khrew officials, and a number of people including women participated in the programme.
Later, the Tehsildar Pampore, Social Welfare officer distributed prizes among five best performer winners of the seminar. Tehsil office Pampore in collaboration with district social Welfare Pulwama organised anti drug contest , I am happy that a number of youth from different areas of Pulwama participated in the contest,” Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din told Kashmir Reader, adding that the aim is to send a message that drugs are a death trap. “Say no to drugs and yes to life”.
