FOB Srinagar organises ICOP on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat in Srinagar

Srinagar: Field Outreach Bureau, Srinagar today organised a mini Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme(ICOP) in Srinagar district. The one day long programme was held at Government Polytechnic College for Women,Bemina.
The programme was aimed at sensitising people, especially the youths, about the vision behind the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB).
Speakers highlighted different aspects of the twin initiatives and stressed on the need to follow noble ideals which inspired the national struggle for freedom. Students from the college also expressed their views on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering Sh. Manzoor Ahmad Kumar,Chief Education Officer, Srinagar called for the need to celebrate our cultural,linguistic and religious diversity. Calling upon the students to actively participate in the Jan Bhagidari campaign, Sh Kumar said that youth should be the brand ambassadors of our cultural milieu.
Principal Government Polytechnic College for Women, Bemina, Dr. Shafquat Ara in her address said that AKAM and EBSB initiatives have presented every citizen with an opportunity to contribute to the nations progress at local level. She thanked the organisers for providing a platform to the youths to express their ideas and display creativity.
On the occasion Field Publicity Officer,Anantnag Sh. Shahid Mohammad Lone briefed the audience about the vision behind AKAM and EBSB. Sh. Lone informed that Amrit Mahotsav is an embodiment of all that is progressive about India’s socio-cultural, political and economic identity. He said that EBSB programme aims to enhance interaction & promote mutual understanding between people of different states and UTs through the concept of state pairing. He further informed that under the initiative Jammu and Kashmir has been paired with Tamil Nadu.
As part of pre-event activities, students participated in quiz and drawing/painting competitions on Wednesday. The winners of the competitions were felicitated with prizes and certificates at the conclusion of the event.
