Police hold PCPG meetings in Ganderbal, Sopore

Srinagar: As a part of public outreach programme and to strengthen Police-public relationship, series of PCPG meetings were facilitated by Police in Ganderbal and Sopore. These meetings were held while following social distancing norms and other Covid protocols.
In Ganderbal, several Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings were facilitated at PS Ganderbal, PS Gund, PS Lar and PS Kheer Bhawani. The meetings were chaired by concerned SHOs along with other officers and were attended by senior citizens, businessmen, Auqaf Committee members and other respectable Citizens of these areas.
During these meetings, the participants raised several issues pertaining to Police and civil authorities including drug menace, traffic management, unemployment and other several issues. Issues pertaining to Police were resolved on the spot by the chairing officers. The chairing officers also assured the participants that their other genuine grievances pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with concerned authorities for their early redressal. The participants were requested to cooperate with Police in maintenance of law & order and identifying anti-national elements who try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
Similarly, Police in Sopore have also facilitated PCPG meeting at PP Putkha in which number of citizens including traders and other respectable citizens of Sangrama, Putkha, Choora and Hygam areas participated.
The meeting was chaired by SDPO Sopore Furkan Qadir-JKPS alongwith DO PP Putkha. The participants raised several issues regarding water crisis, traffic jam at Sangrama, non availability of electricity and other issues in the area. The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine issues pertaining to police will be redressed on priority and other issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities.
The participants in these meetings assured their full cooperation to Police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating such community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
