DGFT, KCCI hold seminar on export promotion

SRINAGAR: The Directorate of General Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, and The Federation of Indian Export organization (FIEO)in association with The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized seminar on “District As Export Hub-Promotion Training Programme” at Srinagar today on the9th of December, 2021.
Sukhdev Banerjee ,Asstt. Director General of Foreign Trade, Ms. Aruna Narula, Member, Business Excellence Support Team, DGFT, Gaurav Gupta, FIEO, Vijay Paul, Branch Head, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India, Srinagar were Guests at the event. Officials from JKTPO. Officials from Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir. Representatives of Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) Srinagar.
Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President, KCC&I, Rauf Ahmad Punjabi, Past President, KCC&I, Parveez Ahmad Bhat also shared the dias.
While speaking on the occasion Sukhdev Banerjee assured all help and support from Director General of Foreign Trade for exporters and entrepreneur for their new startups.
Aruna Narula briefed the audience about the Export Procedure, starting of Export, Process, Information,Role and Schemes of DirectorGeneral ofForeign Trade.
Vijay Paul while speaking on the occasion gave information to the audience about the role of Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India in Export (ECGC) in Exports and how can exporters avail their schemes and procedure of their insurance.
Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad while speaking appraised about the last 5 years decline in exports due to various reasons and the future roadmap for increasing the exports. Ashiq also stressed on the role of young entrepreneurs in the export sector and various benefits for earnings in foreign exchange, also appreciated the role of DGFT& FIEO. The need for conduct of future seminars in all districts of Kashmir was also emphasized.
Rauf Ahmad Punjabi, Parveez Ahmad Bhat and Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) Srinagar representatives also shared their experiences and briefed the audience about their views and suggestion to the Director General of Foreign Trade for capping and schemes especially for Covid period which has affected business badly and decline of exports from J&K.
Seminar was attended by Exporters, Entrepreneurs, students, and asked questions which were answered to the satisfaction of all.
