Police arrest 2 drug peddlers in Pulwama

Srinagar: Police in a series of actions have arrested two drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered huge quantities of contraband substances from their possession. Officers from Police Station Pulwama during patrolling at Babagund intercepted a Maruti car bearing Chasis No. 1964411 driven by Parvaiz Ahmad Sheikh @Mochi son of Gh Qadir Sheikh resident of Kangan Pulwama. During search, officers were able to recover 15 bottles of Codeine, 16 Kg of Bang Patri and 100 gms of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody. Vehicles used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Meanwhile in another action, a Police Party from PS Pulwama acting swiftly following a specific information about hoarding large quantities of contraband substances, conducted a raid at a specific location in village Arigam Pulwama. During search 15kg of Bang Patri was recovered from the residential house of Mudasir Ahmad Dar son of Ab Gani Dar resident of Arigam Pulwama. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been set into motion. Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
