Tulbagh Pampore residents demand immediate repairing of transformer

PAMPORE: The residents of Tulbagh area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday staged a protest against Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to repair their damaged 250 KV transformer.
The protesters, mostly women assembled at Khrew Pampore road at Tulbagh and chanted slogans against the Power Development Department.
They were demanding authorities to repair their damaged transformer at an earliest.
Locals of the area told Kashmir Reader that the 250 KV transformer in the area developed some technical snag week ago and since then they are reeling under darkness and Power Development Department failed to repair their damaged transformer.
“The transformer was damaged a week ago and PDD authorities provided us another transformer but that suffered damages on the same day it was installed.”
The locals told Kashmir Reader that they are around 100 houses and need a transformer of higher capacity.
The locals said that without supply of electricity online classes of their kids are getting interrupted.
The locals have appealed to the higher authorities to look into the matter and provide them the power transformer at the earliest.
On getting information about protest at Tulbagh Pampore, SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad visited the spot and assured them that they will take up their demand with the Power Development Department officials.
