Srinagar: Commissioner SMC/ CEO Athar Amir Khan kick-started the plantation drive by planting saplings on the occasion in Kothibagh Higher Secondary School.
He was accompanied by Divisional Forest officer Chief Executive Engineer Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL),Secretary Srinagar Development Authority,Chief Education Officer,Deputy Chief Education Officer.Principal Kothibagh Higher School.This year the target of five lakh plantations have been made.
The SSCL and Forest Deptt will be having dedicated counters across the city in which plants are being made available and can be taken by the citizens for plantation at their respective levels. The plantation drive which will be conducted in Srinagar city will have participation of all the departments including Education deptt., SDA, LCMA, Badami Bagh Cantonment Board,SMC and I & FC.
