BS&G celebrates 71st Flag Day

Srinagar: The J&K chapter of Bharat Scouts and Guides celebrated its Flag day on Wednesday here. The event started with the Flag hoisting by State Commissioner of the organization Gazafar Ali. He was accompanied by JD YSS Bashir Ahmad, DYSSO Srinagar and Senior Officers of Bharat Scouts & Guides. The second part of the programme was based on fund raising and presentation of Scarfs etc.
State commissioner Bharat Scouts & Guides Gulshan Ara in her welcome speech highlighted the role of Bharat Scouts & Guides in providing a helping hand to the needy and people in distress. She hoped that the new team under the dynamic leadership of Gazafar Ali would associate new members with the organization on mission mode. She also spoke about the importance of Flag day of the organization.
Two young school children Zara Tawheed and Towseef Ahmad threw some light on the basic laws and duties of Bharat Scouts & Guides.
Newly selected office bearers, Public Relation Officer Azhar Hajini and Assistant PRO Rumi Nazir were welcomed in the forum by State Commissioner and other senior members. They were presented with BSG scarfs as a token of love and respect.
Journalists Malik Sajid, Malik Sumeed, Khan Mudasir, Shahid Farouqi were also presented scarfs for their participation in the programme.
JD (K) Bashir Ahmad while appreciating the efforts of the organization in providing a helping hand to the people especially during the tough times, natural calamities and floods etc said that the volunteerism and sense of belonging is among the basic fundamentals of Bharat Scouts and Guides.
In his concluding remarks Director Youth Services and Sports Gazafar Ali who is also discharging his voluntarily services as State Commissioner for J&K in the organization stated that it’s heart-warming to see people from cross sections of the society getting associated with the organization and helping human kind in one or the other way. While referring to some interesting stories of humanity, generosity and humbleness; he advised his fellow Scouts and Guides to make it a mission that humanity should be served at every level. Calling the Department of Youth Services and Sports an organization of disciplined workforce, he assured that every possible step would be taken to get employees of Youth Services and Sports Department associated with Bharat Scouts and Guides on a voluntary basis.
Muzafar Ahmad Trambo, Joint State Commissioner presented a vote of thanks in the end. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Masarrat Husain State Organising commissioner J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides. Sheikh Mohammed Shafi Joint State Secretary and other senior office bearers and members of the organization were also present in the Flag day function.
