2 gamblers arrested in Ganderbal, stake money seized

Srinagar: Acting tough against social crimes, Ganderbal Police have arrested 2 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from their possession. Acting on specific information, a police party from Police Station Kangan under the supervision of SDPO Kangan raided a gambling site at Mammar Kangan following an input about gambling activities and apprehended two gamblers. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Magray son of Abdul Rashid Magray resident of Padabal Cheerwan and Arshad Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Qadir Khan resident of Margund Kangan.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹10,900/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 129/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kangan and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
