Ayush organises Seminar on’ Ayurveda for Poshan’ at GDCW Kathua

KATHUA: Department of AYUSH, Kathua today organised a seminar on this year’s celebration theme ‘Ayurveda for Poshan” to commemorate Lord Shri Dhanwantri Jayanti and 6th National Ayurveda Day here at Government Degree College for Women.
DDC Chairman, Kathua Mahan Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
The program started with floral tributes to Lord Dhanwantri followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest and Dhanwantri Vandana.
As many as ten students of Government Degree College for Women took part in the seminar and expressed their views on the benefits of the Indian system of medicine and to promote and preserve intangible cultural heritage of Ayurveda, which itself is the wholesome idea of a good healthy life.
In his address, DDC Chairman Mahan Singh said Ayurveda is perceived as one of the most ancient and well-documented systems of medicine equally relevant in modern times. He said Ayurveda is a complete guide to live a healthy life which has great significance in today’s time. He also appreciated the role of Ayush Doctors and staff during the Covid times.
Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav in his address extended greetings on Dhanwantari Jayanti and said that the Ayurveda is not just a medical system, but a manifestation of our symbiotic relationship with nature. He said the age old system of Ayurveda shall be followed and promoted at all levels for healthy living.
Earlier, District Ayush Officer Ajay Tikkoo presented the working profile of AYUSH and its functioning across the district. He informed that 15 AYUSH dispensaries have been upgraded to Ayush Health and Wellness Centre under Ayushman Bharat scheme. He informed that the department hosted 694 camps where Immunity Booster Kits were distributed among over 90000 beneficiaries.
A jury of three experts judged the competition. Pallavi Sharma stood first, while Prerna Bhagat and Dhara Sudan clinched second and third place respectively.
Appreciation letters were given to Covid warriors of the AYUSH department.
Principal, GDW Prof M.S Pathania, Dr Bodh Pal, Ayush Doctors and staff were also present.
