Pampore: Celebrity chef of India, Sanjeev Kapoor along with his crew visited various areas of Saffron town Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district for promotion of Saffron.
The famous master chef and host of popular food show, Khana Khazana,
visited saffron fields at Patalbagh,
India International Kashmir Saffron Trader Centre (IIKSTC) Dusoo Pampore and interacted with young progressive former Irshad Ahmad at his residence in Patalbagh Pampore.
Talking to Kashmir Reader at Pampore Saffron fields, Sanjeev Kapoor said that saffron is one of the important ingredients used in food as a valued spice.
” The world best saffron is grown here in Pampore, the saffron season is in progress and to witness blossoming of saffron flowers and how saffron is harvested, I came here,” he said, adding that they are shooting the whole process of saffron harvesting and will share the knowledge with the world.
He also told Kashmir Reader that his aim is to improve demand and increase the value of Kashmir saffron.
” Iran and Spain promoted their saffron in a big way, we want to promote Kashmir Saffron in a big way,” he said, adding that he wishes to do his role by promoting and marketing Kashmir saffron.
He advised farmers to take advantage of government support.
” Saffron farming has a lot of scope and farmers should take maximum benefit from it,” he said.
He said that they are filming saffron to share their experience with the global audience as to why Kashmiri saffron is best and why it should be used.
The Master chef and his crew was accompanied by Tehsildar Pampore Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-Din, Naib Tehsildar Pampore, Mohammad Ameen and Tehsil official Mir Murwat Hussain.
They guided them and provided them background details regarding Kashmir Saffron during the visit.
Later the master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor visited the house progressive young farmer, Irshad Ahmad Dar at Patalbagh Pampore.
Irshad is featured in Sanjeev’s film on Saffron.
” I am very happy the master chef who has a huge fan following visited my house,” Irshad told Kashmir Reader, adding that he is thankful to master Chef , entrepreneur and television personality of India for promoting Kashmir Saffron.
