Kashmir province chess championship concludes

Srinagar: Kashmir province senior Chess Championship 2021-22 organized by All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA)under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council concluded at Indoor Sports Hall Polo Ground Srinagar.
A spokeswoman of AJKCA in a statement said about 60 participants in senior category from all districts of Kashmir valley participated.
Adil Ashraf secured first position and was overall champion of the tournament.
The other top positions were bagged by Asim Billah, Khalid BabaI, Imitiyaz Ahmad Lone, Junaid Shah, Arshid Ahmad, Faisal Farooq, Sharief Ahmad, Abhinav Foredar and Jasim Rashid, respectively.
The JKCA statment says that 1st to 10 positions from Kashmir division and 1st to 10 positions from Jammu division will participate in upcoming senior State Chess Championship 2021-22.
“Players hope under aegis of J&K State Sports Council and All J&K Chess Association will organize such events also in future. Burhan Ahmad Wani was chief Arbiter, while as Mushtaq Ahmad Malik was arbiter and Khalid Amin Gojawari was FIDE Instructor of the whole event,” the statement reads.
