SRINAGAR: With two gold and four bronze medals J&K Wushu team bagged third position in the 20th Junior National Wushu Championship held at LPU Jalandhar earlier this week
While as Haryana topped with 8 Gold 2 silver and 2 Bronze whereas Manipur with 02 Gold 1 silver and 2 Bronze and UP with 1 Gold medal 3 silver.
Sadia Tariq and Ansa Chisti secured bagged gold medals in the Below 48kg and 52kg categoties respectively. It is the second consecutive Gold medal for the Sadia Tariq whereas Ansa Chisti converted her previous silver medal to Gold.
Ayra Chisti, Kaifa Shah, Ali and Ajmal secured Bronze medals in the championship.
Ayra chisti got injured during the bout and missed Gold medal.
The chief guest on the closing ceremony was president of wushu Association of India Bhupender singh Bajwa, he presented medals to all medalists which was accompanied by the MD of the Lovely Professional University Jalandhar and president of the Punjab Wushu Association Surinender singh Sodhi (Arjun Awardee).
The office bearers of Wushu Association of J&K, Chief patron Yogesh Sawhney, congratulated all the medalists for their commendable performance in the championship; especially district Srinagar wushu Association for their commendable performance. They also congratulated coaches for imparting effective coaching.
