DDC Rajouri reviews progress on self-employment generation schemes

RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to review the progress achieved under various self-employment generation schemes in the district.
Among the others, CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; CAO, Shabana Azmin; CAHO, Dr Fazal Hussain; DIO NIC, Muzafar Mir; District Officer KVIB, Abdul Aziz Wani; District Officer NRLM, DYO, Nitin Hangloo; AD Employment, Rekha Rani besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The DDC while reviewing the status of various employment generation schemes in the district reiterated the Government’s commitment to provide gainful employment opportunities to the unemployed youth of the district under various self-employment generation schemes.
While reviewing the progress on the MUMKIN scheme, the meeting was apprised that as many as 1000 unemployed youth of the district are to be covered under the scheme and 200 cases have been approved as of now out of which 46 applicants have been provided commercial vehicles.
Taking stock of the progress on loan cases of the Banks, it was informed that as many as 647 applications were received out of which 250 cases have been sanctioned. The DDC asked the concerned officer to clear the pending cases at the earliest.
While discussing the progress on the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme, the concerned officer apprised that fifteen dairies have been approved this year. The DDC instructed concerned for conducting counselling of the beneficiaries so that the objective of setting up the dairy units is achieved.
He also asked for the segregation of the ST beneficiaries from the recently submitted list of the 5000 dairies so that they can be provided necessary benefits under the dairy development scheme of the Mission Youth.
While reviewing performance under the Tejaswini scheme, it was informed that 640 applications have been received as of now. The DDC directed the concerned officer to inform the public about the benefits of the scheme and ensure maximum coverage of the beneficiaries under the scheme.
Taking a review of the progress regarding the constitution of the youth clubs, the concerned officer informed that youth clubs have been constituted in each panchayat and all the clubs have been made functional. The DDC instructed the concerned officer to convene monthly meetings with the members of the youth clubs and educate them about various self-employment generation schemes of the Government.
The DDC also reviewed the progress concerning the registration of women with the women water conservation club. The concerned officer said that more than one lakh women have been registered with the club and concrete measures are being taken to register maximum women with the club.
While reviewing the tourist village network initiative of the Mission Youth, the meeting was informed that four villages of the district including Shadra Sharif, DKG, Qila Darhal and Panjara have been selected under the initiative where Rs 10 lacs would be provided as loans to the unemployed youth of these villages for setting up their tourism-related units. The DDC directed the concerned to generate massive awareness among the unemployed youth about the initiative and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same.
To educate the youth about the various entrepreneurship schemes, it was decided that a mega awareness camp would be organised at the District Headquarters shortly.
The DDC exhorted the departments to sponsor more cases under the self-employment schemes as there is huge untapped potential in these schemes.
He also asked for making dedicated efforts to generate more employment avenues in the district to help the unemployed youth by providing them with the necessary platforms so that they can earn on their own and become independent and live a life that is full of confidence.
