Pampore: Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore observed Mental Health Day under the Supervision of Junaid Imtiyaz Mir, Judicial Magistrate Pampore at Sub District Hospital Pampore on Saturday.
The Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore under the Chairmanship of Junaid Imtiyaz Mir Judicial Magistrate Pampore under the guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Pulwama (DLSA) Abdul Rashid Malik Principal and District Judge (PDJ) Pulwama and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Pulwama Reyaz Ahmad Chowdhary organized a “Mental Health Day” awareness programme as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
Block Medical Officer Pampore Dr Asma Nazir threw light on raising mental health awareness that can help us to understand our symptoms, find professional treatment, and perhaps most importantly, break the mental health stigma that leaves so many people suffering in secret, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The said Programme was participated by Mohammad Altaf, Psychologist Mental Health who spoke during the occasion and made audience aware about the warning signs of mental health illness and advised them to seek proper help for mental health problem. Nadiya Ismail, Social Worker Mental Health also spoke during the occasion.
The Programme was also attended by the PLVs, Panel Lawyers of TLSC Pampore, Registard Medical Officer Dr Mohammad Ashraf, other doctors of Sub District Hospital Pampore.
Panel Lawyers Advocate Mehraj Ud-Din and Advocate Mohammad Yaseen gave brief speeches during the programme, officials said.
The overall objective of Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of Mental Health as mental health crisis is looming as the COVID-19 pandemic pushes people into isolation, poverty and anxiety, experts say. And as demand for help increases, the crisis has affected critical mental health services in 93% of countries, data from the World Health Organization shows, he said.
