Srinagar: SK University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Shalimar Srinagar,a Memorandum of Understanding with Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Developments Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi for mutual co-operation between the two leading Institutions.
The MoU was signed by Director Research SKUAST-Kashmir and Director APEDA in presence of Vice- Chancellor, SKUAST-K Prof J.P Sharma and Chairman, APEDA,Dr.Angamuthu.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Directors of SKUAST-K, Registrar, Dean Faculty of Horticulture and Dean Student welfare besides several Heads of Divisions of SKUAST-Kashmir were present during the ceremony. As a part of Memorandum of Understanding, SKUAST-Kashmir will work with APEDA in building collaborative approach for promoting agri-businesses and export, strengthening existing laboratories facilities for testing as per requirement of importing countries and for obtaining NABL accreditation & APEDA recognition and pursuing Collaborative Projects for the development and export of agricultural and processed food products.
Chairman APEDA later visited Food Technology and residue Analysis Laboratory of SKUAST-K and assured all support for further up gradation of these laboratories.
