Dir Agriculture Kashmir visits hailstorm affected areas in district Kupwara

Kupwara: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited the hailstorm affected areas of North Kashmir,s Kupwara district.
Director Agriculture toured several villages including, Tarathpora, Panzgam, Shaharkoot, Pachkoot, Kalmoona and took stock of on ground scenario of field crops. He visited several areas to access damage caused by the hail storm to the standing crops, particularly paddy fields.
Pertinent to mention that few days back a devastating hailstorm hit many villages in Kupwara district and caused heavy losses to the Agriculture and Horticulture crops.
During the visit director interacted with the affected farmers and ensured them of every possible technical assistance by the department. Director Agriculture said that an advisory has already been issued to the farmers from time to time to handle the post hailstorm situation. He asked the farmers to follow and implement the instructions given to them by the departmental experts and concerned field officers, so that the impact of the losses could be minimized.
Director Agriculture instructed the concerned field officers to complete the impact assessment assignment and prepare the list of affected farmers so that it could be submitted to the government for further necessary action.
During the visit Director was accompanied by Joint Director Agricuture Exrtension Sheikh Shahid Iqbal, Chief Agriculture Officer Kupwara Nazir Ahmad Wani, District Agriculture Officer Kupwara Naseer Ahmad Khan, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Trehgam, Sub Divisional Agriculturer Officer Handwara and other Senior Officer of the district.
