Engineer working with PMGSY killed in Kangan road accident

KANGAN: An Assistant Executive Engineer of PMGSY sub division Kangan was killed in Kangan road accident when the car they were driving skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Kachnambal Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday evening.
Officials said that the vehicle bearing registration number JK01AN- 5394 was on its way to Kangan from Kachnambal area, when the driver (AEE) lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into a gorge at Kachnambal area resulting into injuries to its driver. After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and started rescued operation. The injured persons was rushed to SDH Kangan where the injured succumbed to his injuries on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Altaf Cheka AEE PMGSY posted in Kangan and a resident of Hazari Bazar Raniwari Srinagar.
Officials said after completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Kangan Police station and investigation started.
