BARAMULLA: The traders’ federation Baramulla on Wednesday staged a protest against the pathetic condition of Baramulla town.
An eyewitness said that a large number of traders under the banner of traders federation Baramulla held a protest at Tehsil road Baramulla against the district administration who according to them fail to provide basic facilities to the people of the town.
Protesters shouting slogans said that their two main drains on Baramulla town near Tehsil road were in very bad condition and the authorities failed to repair them.
General Secretary traders federation Er Tariq Ahmad Magloo said that Srinagar Muzaffarabad road passing through the Baramulla town is also in bad condition, the general bus stand is without Magadmisation from years and the authorities are in slumber. “There is a need for macadamisation of road, bus stand and other link roads, but the authorities are not paying any attention towards it” he said.
Er Tariq said that there are three departments BEACON, Municipality and roads and buildings department, all the departments are passing buck to each other and the district administration is watching it as mute spectators.
The traders threatened that if their demands could not be fulfilled within a week they would hold another protest and would block the highway.
