KU organises ‘Padh Yatra’ as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations

Srinagar: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Kashmir, on Friday organised a ‘Padh Yatra’ as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.
Registrar Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir flagged off the ‘Padh Yatra’ which started from Nishat Garden and culminated at Moulana Rumi Gate of the University.
Addressing students and officials on the occasion, Dr Mir said the University is committed to provide all possible support and infrastructure to encourage youth to participate in sports and extra-curricular activities.
He said the University’s Directorate of Sports and Physical Education (DSPS) is making all efforts to organise indoor and outdoor sports activities to encourage students from colleges and universities across the J&K to participate and showcase their talent.
Students from the university and its affiliated colleges enthusiastically participated in today’s ‘Padh Yatra’.
Coordinator DSPS Dr Nisar Ahmad Khan welcomed the participants and urged them to continue joining sports activities held from time to time to stay physically fit.
Apart from officials of DSPS, Dean Students Welfare Prof Raies A Qadri was also present on the occasion.
Prof Qadri hailed the DSPS for encouraging students and youth to participate in sports activities.
