Kitchen Gardening and vegetable cultivation promotes the agriculture among the youth and students: Director Agriculture Kashmir
Srinagar: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal Wednesday inaugurated the distribution of Vegetable seedlings of cabbage and cauliflower at Kitchen Garden Lal Mandi.
While interacting with the vegetable growers and kitchen garden lovers, Director Agriculture said the Department is committed to provide quality seedling material to the vegetable growers so that they could use the land resources available to them and will contribute to the overall vegetable production. He said the kitchen gardening is becoming a healthy trend and the urban people are adopting it now a days with open arms.
Director Agriculture said the kitchen gardening is a multi dimensional venture where on one hand the vegetables grown in kitchen gardens is mostly organic because people do not use chemical fertilizers in their kitchen gardens and on the other hand it promotes the agriculture among the young generations and students.
During the inauguration of today’s sale Director was accompanied by Deputy Director Agriculture Planning Mohammad Younis Chowdhary and other senior officers of the Department.
