DC B’gam conducts public outreach programme at Zoogu, Khag

Assures gathering that all issues will be addressed on priority

BUDGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today said that the aim and objective of the outreach programme is to reach out to the common masses particularly population residing in the rural and far flung areas of the district at their door steps to listen to their issues and grievances for timely redressal.
The DC said this while addressing a huge gathering of locals from Zoogu Kharien and from adjacent areas in a local school ground, here.
He said that the District Administration has initiated a series of public interaction programmes and this is one such kind of initiative which provides ample opportunities both to public as well as concerned administration to get on spot assessment and status of demands and Grievances.
During the day long interaction, the locals put forth in detail different kind of problems/grievances they are presently going through and demanded improvement of roads/ link roads, improvement in drinking water supply, availability of adequate ration supplies, keeping in mind the topography of the area, establishment of fully equipped PHC in the areas, up gradation of High School at Zoogu to Hr secondary institution. Besides the local Sarpanch in his memorandum of issues stressed upon the demand of making Zoogu a permanent base as well as transit camp where tourists visiting Tosamadian and other pastures can have all latest facilities available, the arrangements could also prove pivotal for creating employment opportunities for the youth of the area.
He also demanded face lifting and beautification of the area touching all aspects so that outsiders visiting shall feel comfort.
Responding to demands and other issues, the DC assured the gathering that the visit will prove fruitful and also there will be enormous response from administrative machinery and every concerned person will be on job forthwith and the public will observe the results on ground very soon.
The DDC directed all concerned departments to double their efforts and involve all available resources in ensuring timely completion of all works before the onset of winter season.
The DC on the occasion was accompanied by GM DIC, P.O ICDS, SDM Khansahab/Beerwah, CMO, ACD, CAO, Ex. Engineers of R&B and PHE, DDEO, DFO, AD FCS&CA, BMO Khag and others concerned.
